Any nice apartments on the East Side?
Maybe I'm generalizing, but I assume that the East Side is just ship channel, refineries and Baytown, etc, but does anyone know of any nice apartments or neighborhoods near Beltway 8 or 610? I'm looking for anywhere about halfway between Pasadena and Bush Airport. Thanks for any help!

There really isn't anything in the way of complexes that I know about. (well, there are complexes, but none that I would recommend), There are duplexes, fourplexes and garage apartments in Eastwood & Woodleigh.
Besides those options, you can also rent an individual house in Eastwood or Woodleigh, or in Idylwood, Houston Country Club Place, Glenbrook or Meadowcreek Village. All of those are nice neighborhoods.

There are nice apartments in Deer Park near Beltway 8 and Hwy 225. From your description it is not clear where you want to be.

I have some friends that live in a David Weekley neighborhood just off the beltway and I-10. It's a nice area, typical middle class neighborhood full of engineers and other people who work on the east side.
I know there are a couple of posters who know the east side suburban area really well, and I'm sure they will be around to answer your question.

We lived in The Broadwater Apartments for 5 months. They are nice, quiet, safe and right off the Beltway.

That's an awefully long distance to Bush airport closer to Ellington (at the back door) and to Hobby.

Best bet is the Northshore area, around Wallisville, FM 526, Cloverleaf, Channelview. Plenty of decent complexes around, especially off Uvalde.

Thanks again to everyone. I'm near Ellington/Pasadena now but my fiancee might start working northside, so we're trying to find something between us. I guess downtown would work, but I figure hugging the beltway around the city would be easier than commuting across the city.
