Default grocerie/food shopping near the hospital

hey guys me and my mate are coming over from the UK for Wrestlemania 25.

we are staying at the best western Plaza Hotel and Suites at Medical Centre Houston Texas. i ve found out there are loads of places to eat near by such as KFC,Burger King and Mcdonalds.
My question is where can i buy stuff like mountian dew, chips, candy, etc (groceries) near the hotel. both me and my mate don't drive so it has to be in walking distance or i hear the metro train is near by so i guess we could use that

thanks very much for any help

You've got a Kroger and a Fiesta Mart nearby, as well as a few convenience stores.

There is a Fiesta and Kroger and convenient stores for groceries, than you have the tons of fast food and hole in the wall resturants all located around the light rail stations. Only if H.E.B was close than you'd be in Heaven!
