You've spent alot of time trying to highlight some places as being great and you keep referring to the same 5-6 areas. How about just admit it that its not all that great; and then we will all be able to cope with Houston.

i think im just going to start telling my self that Houston is not at all that great; but I'm making a killing living so cheap and making so much; Ima bite the bullet and let my money pile-up and then if I get a good job somewhere better and the pay is better then i'll probably move somewhere and say a thank you to the lord!

You might not be the only one saying that.

I think most cities only really have about 5-6 great areas. Do people from NYC really go to Queens or Brooklyn that often if they can help it? Not really. I'm from Chicago originally and can think of about 6 "great" areas: Downtown (which is one of if not the best in the country) Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, Oak Park, North Shore beach suburbs and Northwestern area in Evanston. There are a lot of neighborhoods that are cookie cutter to these. I've lived in and/or been to a lot of cities in the USA. I think you will find this is the case in almost all. The one exception might be L.A.

where do you think pictures of the NYC skyline is taken? across the rivers, thats why they are flourishing to unaffordable levels. theres also boats and ferries (part of the experience and may have the the party on it) that will take you to those places, its an extension of the taxi cab
also Houston does not have "5-6 great areas". 5-6 intersections maybe

I disagree with this.

Houston has plenty of nightclub areas. Main Street/Downtown, Montrose,3rd Ward, Midtown, Rice Village are to name a few. And the upcoming West Ave, High Street, Blvd PL, and Houston Pavilions will expand it even further.

I've been to Dallas's nightlife areas like Lower Greenville, Uptwn/ Highland Village areas, and Deep Ellum. Not impressed. At least I didn't see where the vibe was anymore upbeat than Houston!

Well if you stay in the same area all the time, it's hard to find 1 great area, much less 5 or 6.

There you go hating on Houston, without using the word hate you just post an ignorant drive by bash with nothing to back it up with.

Houston is MUCH better q.o.l. than NYC.

People in NYC are provincial and don't know what they're talking about. You'll be fine.
