"Houston, it's worth it" is so pathetic a marketing slogan for the city that it borders on a thinly veiled self admission of mediocrity. What the second poster stated in this thread was bang on: The slogan implies that living in Houston comes with a package of very undesirable negatives that one should be willing to endure for the sake of realizing some benefit that, based on a cost-benefit analysis, will hopefully become apparent somewhere down the road.
Sorry, but life is WAAAY too short to put up with the kind of bullsh*t Houston offers.

It's a tongue-in-cheek take-off on what many people already think about Houston. Why people fail to get this is beyond me...

If you made the retarded comments you made here about any city in America the residents there would react the same exact way. Go read other city forums that are started with a negative person saying ignorant things and you'll see. Does that mean every city in America is xenophobic and intolerant? If it does us, then it does everywhere else so you might want to consider another country

Retarded? Can you provided an intelligent counter-argument to the issues I've raised on Houston instead of resorting to personal attacks? I rest my case. As for other cities, I won't argue that you'll also find defensive residents hacking me down. But I WILL argue that vastly greater porportions of those folks are willing to at least consider divergent views and attempt to see certain degrees of truth. For a Texan, that's setting the bar a little too high.

No, I never even alluded to a belief that EVERY American city is intolerant so stop putting words in my mouth. My comments were focused on Houston. America is a great country and I'm willing to give it the benefit of my doubt by not judging it by what I've seen in Houston.

Well be sure to warn the thousands of people who move here to Texas every year. You'll only be replaced by someone who actually appreciates Houston and enjoys living here. Like people say if your bored, than your a boring person. It is way too many things to do here in Houston to be bored. Do you like clubbing, bars ,movies, dancing, plays, museums, water parks, socializing, etc. If you can't find any of these things in Houston than you obviously haven't set out to find them.
