Default Houston. It's Worth It

Has anyone mentioned this book and Web site yet? "Houston. It's Worth It"

We saw a bumper sticker and we thought it was so cool, we Googled it to find out where to get one. And we found this cool Web site and book. Check it out.

Although I applaud any attempt to improve the city...frankly, I find the slogan rather pathetic. I realize it is an attempt to be somewhat tongue-and-cheek, considering the terrible image of Houston, I find it really counter-productive.

There has to be some better way to market the city. "It's worth it" sounds like the slogan to convince someone to endure the most excruciating event imaginable.

Really? We thought it was brilliant. A lot of people outside of Houston DO think living here is excruciating! When we told friends we were moving here, they were horrified and they felt sorry for us. So we laughed out loud when we saw the bumper sticker, and then we were motivated enough to find the book by searching the Web.

Well, aren't you Sammy Sunshine?

I think I want the coffee mug rather than the book, but I just might buy both. No moon rocks, though, thanks...

Sorry you dont like it here. Sugar Land is a pretty nice place well outside the rat race of the big city.

We DO like it here. The point of the campaign is that Houston is worth it despite the negatives, that the positives outweigh the famous negatives.

Houston456 is on a distinguished road
Topaz, I know you love it here..But there tons who hate Houston..

Well, I dont care about the slogan or the book or whatever...But Houston and its suburbs are one of the few places where an average joe&sally can have a life without being a mortgage slave till the last breath..still maintaining a better lifestyle and the culture they prefer.

Weather ? Agreed, May-Aug (4 months) are HOT. But how about the other 8 months ? Tune to the national weather report and its a pity to see how miserable are some places with snow.

I just wish all those folks who think houston is bad keep on thinking exactly the same forever and move to somewhere else when they realize that they cant afford their 'prestigious' and 'wonderful' life anymore.

its like working in Saudi Arabia. for many asians, a little bit of patience pays a lot
ok i was kidding. Houston IS worth it. Sell it for what it is and I'm buying it.
BUT if youre young, and a bit different from the southern american family type, possibly one of the smartest, and very talented in your class then you'd probably want to spend your younger years is rocking cities, have a blast and burn yourself out. (obviously that book is not for you)

It shouldn't be asking a question about Houston so it is a bad sticker. The tone needs to be more factual like the Big Apple or Keep Austin Weird is etched in stone. We are still working some better ideas.
