Default Commute to Bush Intercontinental Sugar Land vs. The Woodlands

I have a job offer on the table in Houston where I would be in a home office environment.

Would travel 50% of the time and the other 50% would be home office or dealing with a large client in West Houston Area (Dairy Ashford and Beltway 8).

Home budet is $275-$400...Looking for great public schools and a workable commute to client and/or the airport.

Is Sugar Land or The Woodlands better for me?

The Woodlands is very close to the airport. As I recall less than 15 minutes on the Hardy toll road. I am guessing 30-45 minutes (no traffic) to Sugarland. Some residents of Sugarland may have more realistic numbers for you. I lived in the Woodlands for 7 years and would move back there in a second.

If the airport you are looking for is IAH (Bush) then the Woodlands is a better bet.

Sugar Land is a better bet for Hobby airport.

You can find great houses in that price range in either place. Both places also have good schools. So based on traveling alone...I would go with the Woodlands.

Woodlands to Sugarland area would not be a fun commute at all, it could range to 1+ hours during traffic. Have you considered a halfway point? Maybe Cy-Fair area? This is assuming you are talking about IAH(Bush).
