I don't live in Meyerland, but I have been looking at schools and neighborhoods too. I was very impressed by Kolter, and I think Meyerland is a great neighborhood. Have you looked at Roberts or Twain elementary? I liked both of those very much. Roberts is in a pricier neighborhood but might be within your budget.

Meyerland is a very desirable neighborhood with a very active HOA. There are all age groups in there.

Meyerland is a great neighborhood! Very family-friendly, close to shopping, freeways, restaurants, and very good schools. It's more affordable than West U or Bellaire (nearby neighborhoods). I don't like the Meyerland community association though -- very limited understanding of design/architecture, and very little tolerance for anything different. So if you are wanting to build, and you like modern, Meyerland will give you lots of headache. But if you're going to buy something already built, then it's a great neighborhood.
