Do they still have the "Don't pick up Hitchikers" signs in the area?

Where on 1464 is there a cemetery? It must really be hidden, as you say.
One subdivision we looked at in Houston, called Thornwood, backs up to a huge cemetery. In my mind that is actually a positive - cemeteries are quiet, don't cause traffic, are full of trees, and will likely never be developed.

The Central Prison Unit, I have heard is where the famous blues song, "Midnight Special" was written, in reference to the Train that passes right by there. I would'nt be afraid of the people in the Walls. If they do escape they wont be 'hanging' around.

Back in 1991 when I was in college my parents were moving from Austin to Houston for my Dad's job. I remember them finding a house they really liked in a new development called New Territory. The jailed scared them, so they wound up buying the same floorplan in Katy. In 1996, I married my DH, who was living in a starter home in ...... New Territory! The house was nice, but unfortunately backed up to the railroad tracks. We got used to it, but the train tracks made for a difficult resale.
The prison was never really a concern, though there was an escape or two during the 12 years we lived in the area (we lived in River Park for 7 yrs). Escapees would be more likely to hide in Pecan Grove... I live outside of Charlotte now, but I will always remember the sight of mounted police officers surrounding a bunch of prisoners in white jumpsuits working the land close to the intersection of 90A and Highway6.

The cemetary on 1464 is near the entrance Orchard Lakes (southeast corner) across from Old Orchard. It is hidden pretty well and is pretty small... you can see a break in the landscaping.

If you're ever down in Houston
Boy you better walk right
You better not squabble
And you better not fight
Bason and Brock will arrest you
Payton and Boone will take you down
You can bet your bottom dollar
That you're Sugar Land bound
