I was just wondering if anyone knew of any communities that sell homes on some land...at least 1/2 an acre, an acre would be better. We currently live in Humble and like the area. The only one that I know of is Summer Lake Ranch just north of Summerwood. But I can't afford a $500,000 house.

Not looking to move any time soon, just wondering what was available so I can watch it for a while. We like the NE side, but don't want to go too far north, as I work in the Medical Center, and my husband sometimes works off of 225 (ship channel) or in downtown.

I was going to mention Bender's Landing estates since that is where I purchased a half acre. It's extremely beautiful and each house is a custom home. The prices will range anywhere from the 300's to the millions.

There is the Commons of Lake Houston just off 2100 on the east side of the lake, but the commute would be a bit further.

I didn't know then even sold land smaller than an acre in Benders Landing. I'm looking to buy a house there too. Wife doesn't want to buy land and build.

The half-acre lot I bought was in section 3 which is still under development.

The Commons of Lake Houston in Huffman is REALLY nice and its not as expensive as other similar neighborhoods. There's also all kinds of stuff inside the neighborhood like horse trails, nature trails, an arboretum, a swimming pool, boat docks, boat launch, playground...
There's interior acreage sites and lake property too.

I checked out The Commons of Lake Houston a couple months ago and wasn't overly impressed.

The section in Benders with half-acre lots is called "The Reserve".

One nice feature of that section is that it includes community sewage so no need for a septic system like you have to have in the 1+ acre lots.
