Kitchen will be upgraded with granite countertops, 42'' cabinets, stainless steel appliances...master bath will have his/her sinks, granite countertops and seperate shower...stairs will have iron spindles in the banister. Plus they are throwing in another $5k for upgrades. Really liked the floorplan and area. Guess I'll just have to ask about it and keep my ears open!
Look at it this way, when all of that area is built out it wouldn't matter. I think that will be the same for South Katy vs. North Katy.

It's a good deal, don't spend more just to keep up with the jones(ie; Cinco Ranch, Woodlands, Telfair, ect...) Fieldstone will eventually get built out.

Thank you all for your replies. I looked a little more today and I think I am sold on Fieldstone. It is my family's "starter home" so we are looking to be in this home for 5-10 years. I really couldn't find this good of a deal anywhere else. The same floorplan sells for $27k more in Cinco Ranch...I know, I know, IT'S CINCO RANCH!!! But I am pleased with Fieldstone...thanks again!

For $27k more, which would translate into less than an extra $100 per month for a 30-yr mortgage, I would've definitely moved to Cinco for purposes of schooling, amenities and resale value. But then again, I guess some people don't care about those as priorities and maybe would have better uses for $27k.

Well maybe I should have mentioned $27k more on the base price and about another $20k in upgrades that Fieldstone is giving standard. I DO care about schools but I also believe that a "great" school does not equal success. You determine your latitude. Fieldstone is zoned to Fort Bend schools which are ranked just as well as Katy. Personally, Cinco Ranch is great and all, just not for us...it's not exactly what floats my boat.

You have to be freaking kidding? That's about the dumbest thing I've read on this board, never mind the fact you just insulted the OP and made yourself look like a fool at the same time.

That's a nice floorplan! I was interested in that one too, but they didn't build it where we live.
