Hello good people of Texas.
There is a good possibility of me moving to Katy TX from Milwaukee WI in the near future. The problem is that I donít know much about Katy TX; the only thing I know is that it is a very beautiful place.
Could all of you please share whatever you know about Katy TX? (Weather, life style, schools, activities, jobs, peopleís attitude, etc..)
If possible kind of compare between the two cities (if you know Milwaukee WI)
Thank you all in advance for all of your time and kindness in responding.

Default Houston 4th largest city in US

Katy, very nice area both North and South of I-10 just relocated from Detroit, MI and just love it, would recommend leasing/renting before buying to get to know the area. Schools are great if you have kids CY-FARI ISD and KATY ISD. Commute on the other hand can be horrible if you work downtown or medical center as I do. Good luck!

I moved from MIlwaukee to Houston September 2008 just before "IKE". I looked at Katy as a place to live, but we ( my wife and I ) decided to live in the Heights, just minutes from Downtown Houston. The weather is wonderful October through May I guess then it get's real hot and humid ( 90 days 90 degrees or more ). The freeway ( I-10 ) has just undergone some construction. It is real nice. The freeways are more like LA than Milwaukee where we would have ' rush minute. ' Good luck with your decision and/or your move.

If you love homogeneity. Don't like trees. Love scorching radiation on the prairie and direct UV ray sunlight on 95 degree days. Katy is the place for you!

. Like the pine trees and longer commute to the north protect you from "homogeneity," UV rays, flatlands and 95 degree days.
