Hello all!
So, I am happy to say I've gotten a job in Aldine ISD, but I do not know where to live. My background: 23, female, black, single, 1 Mastiff. I've lived in The Woodlands for 16 years, I've traveled, lived, and played past the FM 1960 exit. I've come to the conclusion I do not want to live past FM 1960, I don't need to live Downtown (but if push comes to shove eh, I'll deal with the commute) and now I am debating where to live. I am currently still in The Woodlands with my parents hoping to move out by summer or the very beginning of the Fall school year. Any suggestions on where to live?

P.S. I am willing to commute, half hour to hour.

In all seriousness, being female and single DO NOT live in the Aldine area. You will regret it. Stay north of 1960 or move somewhere like the Heights or Humble. With that dog, you will have a hard time finding an apartment, good luck.

not Aldine! Look in the Heights area. when I worked for Aldine ISD we lived in Garden Oaks and it was a ten mile commute.

What about renting a small 3 bedroom house in Spring? The dog needs a back yard. Probably not a good idea to live in Aldine. I helped an Aldine teacher buy in the west side of Spring Branch near Gessner and I-10 - buy personally thought the commute was insane - that's what she wanted, though.

eh, reverse commute on the Beltway to 45 in the morning, 25 minutes. Reverse commute around 4pm...about the same. Not that bad. I can make it to the airport in 30 minutes or less reverse traffic. With traffic your talking an hour.

Garden Oaks, Oak Forest would be better...but might be more expensive.

Yeah, I thought of that - but she's single and has a teacher's salary (and God knows, we do NOT pay teachers what they are worth) - so I thought Spring would be more economical for her.

Thank you all for advice, seems like staying in the Spring area is a good fit for me.

@cheryjohns, definitely looking more into renting a one story house or townhouse, Kash does need a backyard... Thanks again.
