I need to know about parks that are beautiful and well shaded in early April that will allow quick/easy access to Bucca Di Beppo at Buffalo Speedway and Westpark.

TIA

How big?

The first thing that comes to mind is Weir Park on Belmont between Nottingham and Sunset. The park isn't huge, but it has a tennis court, basketball court, playground and picnic area.

From Bucca Di Beppo, head south on Buffallo Speedway to the first signal light in West U (Sunset) and take a left. Drive to the end of the block. Arrive at Weir Park.

Just a thought.

Failing any of that, Hermann's not really that far away. Drive or take the Bissonnet bus line to get over there.

The park does not have to be that large. I should have mentioned that I want and area that will accommodate 20 preschoolers and their parents. I will want to set up maybe three or four small folding tables. I will visit Weir Park on Tomorrow or Thursday.

Is there a pavilion?

Hermann park is not far, but too far to be an ideal location. I don't want party guests to have to drive more than a couple of blocks.

There is a Lupe Tortilla's at 59 and Kirby, there is a small unknown park off of richmond between buffalo and kirby....going east on richmond, turn right down the street AFTER the velvet melvin. It is really cool. Unfortunatly, not alot of people know if it - so not alot of kids there- but also a soccer field to kick the ball around....there is also a park in river oaks at timmons and westheimer. And west u has plenty of parks as well!
