Default Pre-K in South Katy

We are building in WLN. Any rec's for a good preschool for a 4 year old?? Preferably an actual private school instead of a daycare facility.

It's a bit of a distance from WLN but I have several friends who speak very highly of St. Peter's Methodist ECDC (early childhood development center) for preschool. My kids go to an actual daycare, KidsRKids, but I'm looking for a new place that has both toddler care and private bridge kindergarten.

If you don't want to go as far, I've heard good things about the pre-schools at the Lutheran church on Westheimer and Mason, and also at The Fellowship at Cinco Ranch which is at Peek and Westheimer, across from the YMCA.

Do you know the name of the Lutheran church on Westheimer and Mason?

Gotta give a thumbs up for Cinco Ranch Montessori... there might be a wait list though. They take kids from 16 months old and up

The Church is Living Word Lutheran Church, the preschool is called The Learning Center. I highly recommend it, my daughter went there in 3's and Pre-K. They have awesome, caring staff, many that have been there 5 years or more... which is rare in the preschool/daycare world. Having taught at another church preschool, I can tell you this one is really good! I have also heard (can't know for sure tho') that it may be the only preschool in the area (not MDO) that offers part-time Preschool.

Good Luck on whatever you choose!

I really need to look into that Learning Center place. I called and they were great and told me to drop in any time for a tour. I don't want to miss out on registration for the fall.

I am in the same situation. Also building in WLN and looking for a pre-k for a going on 3 year old in the fall. Does anyone know if they will allow a 2y10mo old into a pre-k when most have a 3 year old rule based on a 9-1 birthday cutoff? Our son is very mature, intelligent, and large so he will fit in perfectly with kids 3-6mo his elder, but alot of schools are extremely anal about that deadline. I know when both my wife and I were younger, our parents had the same problems...but they got around it with private schools and my wife and I both actually graduated hs at 16, and I would like to challenge my son if he is up to it. The younger the brain, the easier it learns. Does anyone know if the Learning Center is flexible with that on a case-by-case basis?

We have just discovered a new option through family friends. Imagination Campus just opened a location on 1093 and Grand Pkwy right near Westheimer Lakes. Just did a tour and signed up our 2 kids on the spot for the PK4 and the Infant program. I believe they also offer a Kindergarten option. They have a really unique global approach to learning and the curriculum is exclusively designed for them combining multiple teaching methodologies from many different countries. They also offer Spanish, French and Chinese as a second language. I am not an expert but they are using the Multiple Intelligence theories to teach a pretty interesting curriculum.
