Yes, Texas stereotypes galore that really have little to do with most of Houston. I never understood why the state's biggest rodeo was in the least cowboy-ish city. It belongs in Fort Worth.

I guess the Mexicans' southern accents suggest that Houston is southern after all.

there is nothing big about it. Half of the mexican americans here have no discernible accent. The other half is a mixture of southern sounding accents and mexican accents. Texas is a southern state. The people here don't sound like Cheesh and Chang or whatever their names are.
