Hi there. Can anyone recommend a good general practice dentist that takes United Healthcare insurance in the Westbury-Meyerland-Bellaire-Med Center areas? I am asking for my son who is a new grad in his first job (he doesn't have internet at this time). I guess while I'm here, I'll also ask about any family practice or internal med doctors that take Aetna. Any recommendations will be appreciated. Hope you all had a safe Friday the 13th...oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!

Internal medicine - Dr. Norman Berkman is wonderful. If he is full, his associate is great as well but I can't remember her name. Located on Fannin near the women's hospital (sees both male and female patients).

Thanks for the responses. I looked up several dentists on my son's insurance list but basically all I could find was where they went to school, if they were indeed licensed. I always like to hear real world info or opinions of doctors, dentists, etc., although everyone has different likes and dislikes. I'll pass the info on to my son. Thanks again!

1-800-DENTIST is a for-profit business. Though I'm not sure how much information they collect from dentists, they likely don't know much more about the dentist they're referring you to than your insurance company does. I'd ask friends or colleagues who they like and what experiences they've had.

Regardless - it's a free call - and I can select through my needs - othodontist - oral surgeon - dentist - etc...
Do they take my UHC Cigna DPPO -vs- a DHMO. They will also tell you WHAT they specialize in, where they went to school, how long they have been in practice - what their hobbies are.
The OP said she had UHC coverage - but did not specify her dental provider. Hence why I just said - use 1 800 dentist. I've used them several times to find new doctors - and it's alot easier calling once to find a doctor/dentist that can take your insurace in network - than calling 5-10 and asking them all the same insurance questions over and over again.
Just my .02.
I can't help her out any further than that b/c I don't live in her area of town.

Dr. Hoopingarner is a fabulous dentist on Fountainview. The only reason I quit going was I needed to find something closer to my office (but I don't like him nearly as well so I won't recommend him).
