Default Sharpstown is changing.

As a resident of Sharpstown of 16 years I've seen this place transform. What I have noticed recently though is the growing number of white and asian residents. It seems that the area has really been taking off as of lately, my home value has tripled in the last 15 years and the area has been slowly improving. I have high hopes for this area.

Sharpstown has this reputation as a tough hi-crime place but that's really just in a few bad apartment complexes. Back in the single-family home subdivision you don't experience any big problems. I bought a house there 22 years ago that doubled in value before I had to give it up in a divorce settlement - really hated that and I'd still be living in it today. I'm living now in another house just 3 miles down Gessner just outside of Sharpstown proper. The neighborhood was great, never experienced crime - just one time had to run off a couple of drunk guys who were sleeping off too great a night at the Caravel nightclub on the 59 freeway 4 blocks away in their pickup truck in front of my house. It's not inner loop but just 3 or 4 miles down the 59 from its intersection with the loop near the Galleria so you can experience all the inner loop experiences in 5-10 minutes without having to pay the higher living costs.

if only that ugly shopping center next to HBU could be demolished. It really takes away from the beauty of the campus.

Trust me if we could get rid of a lot of things that litter 59 and I45

this whole city would look a lot more prettier
