We are moving from Idaho to Houston this summer. We need a central North Houston city to live in. Accessible to the most subburbs. Any import valuable! Thanks!

I'm confused. Do you want to live in north central Houston or the north central part of the metropolitan area, which I guess would be something like Spring?

Accordign to HAR - Central North is Heights, Garden Oaks, Timbergrove, Lindale, Oak Forest, etc.

Is this what you are implying?

What jfre81 is saying is that "North Houston" is a very broad term and can mean a number of things, but judging by what you said you were looking for, you might want to look into these areas:

Closer proximity to the city core:
Welcome to Kingwood Texas - www.Kingwood.com

Farther removed distinct suburb:
Tomball, Texas - The City of Tomball, TX
http://www.thewoodlands.com/

Exurb of Houston, out in the country but still "booming":
City of Conroe - Home Page

This is what I'd be thinking. But they asked "a central North Houston city." Houston is a single city, unless we're also talking about Houston, Missouri or something. But I also frequently see "Houston" being used here to describe a wide swath of Southeast Texas (e.g. "I'm moving to 'Houston' in April, what is the best place in Rosenberg to live?). So what I was asking is whether they were looking at living within Houston itself or a suburb.

Sorry to be confusing! We need to be north of the 10 & accessible to the 10. In a subburb is fine.

Well in that case, you might want to consider Katy.

It's right on 10 (half of the city is north of the interstate and the other half is south of it), and while it's actually west of Houston, it's somewhat of a northernish suburb. Depending on where you wanna go traffic can be a little bad around the beltway, however.

We could help you more if you were able to tell us what specific location you would need to be near to and why it's important to be north of I-10. Otherwise they're's just way too many options.

jfre81: I'm fascinated that you know there is a Houston, MO! I am living relatively close (in wilderness terms) to Houston, MO...not really liking it. I'm considering a move to Houston (TX that is) to be near my son. Maybe someday...
