Hey guys,

i had posted a message about a month ago, but never was able to score any replies. I am moving to Houston in Mid-May, and am struggling finding a good apartment. I am working downtown, and willing to make a small commute however not really wanting to to be my entire morning. I am looking for a budget of around 800-1000. I've seen a few of the Gables properties as well as Cadmen. Can anyone make any specific suggestions on apartments you would be comfortable in. I am pretty open, but would like to hear from someone more experienced than myself.

What about something in Upper Kirby or along Wespark near Buffalo Speadway. I think there is a Camden in both areas. And those would be great areas

I currently live in the Broadstone Lofts in the Uptown area. I really like living here. I feel safe and i'm near a lot of great places. I pay only $1,100 a month so if your willing to increase your budget an extra $100 a month you will not regret it.

Thanks s much for the responses guys! I had called Cadmen Greenway, and they seemed to be pretty nice. Anyone have any experience with the complex or the management group?

If you think you will use the large complex amenities (gym, pool, movie room, etc.), then those complexes can be a good deal. However, if you just want a nice play to live, but don't care about the other stuff, then you might consider a duplex, triplex, etc., owned privately You will generally get more for your money, plus an older place with more charm. Upper Kirby, Montrose, and the Museum District are full of them.
