Anyone notice these little golden bettle bugs appearing around the lights outside of your homes lately? They are extremely annoying, banging against the windows...begging to come in and get to the light...and not to mention extremely disgusting!! Anyone know when they will be making an exit?

Crane flies?

These have been out for a couple weeks now, and will be out for the next several months. They are 100% harmless.

No....not crane flies. They are kinda small, round and fat. Goldish brown...resembles a bettle.

Yup. They came out and re-filled my mosquito system and reset the timer yesterday. It's a month earlier than they did last year.

Insects ''leave'' whenever the cooler temperatures kill them off. Otherwise, the beginning of bug season is about right now and will go on until about early November.

Sometimes you will have a buggy December or January day, esp if there are consecutive days near 80 degrees.

I figured. I know in MS we usually get those June bugs around May/June and about July they are gone. Just wondering if they were one of those bugs that appear for a couple of months and then migrate on. Thanks!

What about "love bugs" ? Are they as prolific in the spring & fall as in the Orlando FL area??
