Recommend a weekend getaway..
Can anyone recommend a weekend getaway? We would like golf and spa that's either on site or near site. Prefer location to be central or south as one couple will be driving from the Waco area and we will be coming from Houston. We don't want to spend a ton since it's not our "real" vacation - just a fun weekend. I've looked around the San Marcos/San Antonio area but didn't find anything. ?

Friends of mine are going to the Westin/La Cantera in San Antonio for a few day vacation/golf outing. I have heard quite a few good things about the property and facilities from others as well.

Lost Pines is indeed awesome. You won't want to leave.
ETA: They have four or five restaurants on site also, so you really won't have to leave the grounds all weekend, unless you want to. |
