I'm going to go out on a limb and say the CSA WILL hit 7 million around 2011 or 2012. Right now, the NCTCOG puts the Metroplex at 6,406,500. NCTCOG(for those that do not know) is for the North Texas region. They conduct a system that updates it's population every year. They actually deal with the metro more so their numbers are a bit closer to reality than Census.
It's similar to Census and the NCTCOG uses Census 16 CSA format. Census updates their numbers every July 1. Next month, when we see their numbes come out, it will reflect July 1, 2006. You will notice how it has nearly half of those NCTCOG's numbers because it's simply half of the year. NCTCOG's numbers reflect on the last day of the past year which was December 31, 2006. So both numbers actually saying the same thing. Hope I explained it the best way I could before I get questions asked.
Every city has these btw. Houston does but I forgot the name of the site. I seen it on HAIF but forgot the name of the thread. DC/B-more area has it and they put the number at 8.3 million now because the Northern Virginia area is exploding in growth.

Yeah, they use the 16 counties that the CSA is now using.

Yeah, and a beautiful downtown baseball park too, like minute maid! I still am kind of new to Texas, live mostly in Coll. Station but visit Houston every chance I get, so much to explore there. I figured I missed a few things when I posted aggreement with the post

Yeah, it will be on the Houston Astros' season ticket parking lot. There will be a rail stop there once the Southeast Line starts construction (late this summer I believe).

Good, but just how far are we gonna be along on the rail by 2010? Or we ever going to surpass DFW? I heard we would.

Once Culberson is out of office, we will be about the same as them. We have more commuter lines coming online than DFW does, but they have more light rail lines.

Are you talking about H-GAC (Houston-Galveston Area Council)? I use that site to find out the roadway plans. Right now I'm wondering when will Westpark Drive be completed from TX-6 to Eldridge Parkway and the eastbound lanes completed through Shadow Lake and Royal Oaks. The Westpark stub from Eldridge to the CoH line has been sitting unused for 15-20 years. I think I should get started on that letter to Radack.
