I like the Galleria. It's within walking distance of my apartment. The only thing I hate are the crowds but that's life in the big city. I would love it if they could redevelop it into a better flowing mall.

I likeFirst Colony because Pottery Barn, William's Sonoma, Barnes and Noble and White House Black Market are close to one another. If I am lucky I can park in front of one of the stores and never have to enter the Mall. The Apple Store is near the main entrance and Gymboree is nearby.

I don't enjoy shopping at the Galleria. If I can't find what I need online, I like Town & Country Village, which is much more pleasant than the average mall. Since I live near it, I will go to First Colony Mall if I have absolutely no better option because I need to buy something right away, but I dislike every moment of being there.

Check this out if you have time. I think it might be time for me to start a thread on Katy Mills!

I generally don't go that much, although when I do I usually park in Galleria III and it is really easy to park right by the door and get in and out.

The Galleria III, that section between Sak's and the original Macy's, sure seems sad these days.

It has a great mix of stores, but I would avoid it like the plague on weekends or anytime near Christmas.

I do like the Galleria tho, but its a "once in a blue moon" type visit for me.
I usually split my time between West Oaks and the Galleria since they're both a short drive from each other on Westheimer. If I need something quick, I go to West Oaks.

Katy Mills looks as sad as Galleria III right now. I'm waiting for that Macy's to close but it might hasten the decline of the Galleria III.

I learned the lesson to avoid the Galleria this Christmas season. West Oaks is closer and less crowded and hectic than the other malls such as Memorial City. (Every Sunday I notice passing MCM on I-10 that the mall must be full judging by the parking lot. Must be a lot of mall rats in the inner beltway.)

Galleria III needs a definite makeover. They need to rebuild Saks on the parking lot, and then change the Macy's in Galleria III to a Bloomingdales. If too much parking is lost, build a small parking garage. Can you here me Simon Inc.???

And about Katy Mills, it is not ghetto. I laugh at people who say that. Just a bunch of teenagers with nothing better to do. Most of them come from Morton Ranch and Mayde Creek (I know a lot of them). It's nothing to be afraid of. Times Square on Grand Parkway is worse than Katy Mills on Friday/Saturday nights.

A little off topic, but for future reference the best place for that last minute Christmas shopping is the downtown Macy's on a Saturday. Invariably I end up needing to pick up some last minute thing, and there is NOBODY there on even the Saturday right before Christmas.

I live in Pearland & I go. I would recommend going during the weekend NOT on weekends. Weekends have changed as the young teen girls and many feminine looking teen guys overcrowd the place.

My problem is I just want to get in and get out lol. My friends want to walk the WHOLE mall before we leave. Most of the stores I shop at, I can find in any other mall in Houston.

What makes it even worse is that I have to drive
