I've had service with Verizon for 3 years now. We switched from Cingular because one day, out of the blue, my husband absolutely could NOT get a signal in the lab at MD Anderson and we'd constantly have dropped calls. It was so freaking annoying.

So, we signed up with Verizon and within a year bought two new LG phones. They've worked beautifully, until just recently, we're back to where we were before--all of a sudden, hubby's phone absolutely cannot get a signal. We went from him being able to call me in an elevator at work to maybe one bar on his signal indicator.

Anyone have any ideas? I guess we should just buy new phones, but honestly, I am just so pissed off because the conspiracy theorist in me says Verizon does this crap on purpose so you have to. Is it the phones or what? Argh!

I wouldn't put it past the hospitals to have jammers or to have installed equipment that interferes with the signal unknowingly. They constantly are telling folks to turn off cell phones in hospitals.

He's not in the hospital section. He's in the research building.

I always had problems with my cell service when I was working at M.D. Anderson. I was also in one of the newer research buildings. That's the place I'd want to be in a Cat 5 storm for sure... I always thought it was built so well and that was the problem with my phone signal...

I was listening to our local "tech guy" radio program, and he said that a lot of people were having problems with their LG phones. You may want to google user reviews for your type of phone and see if others are having similar problems. If so, Verizon may be willing to work with you on a trade in.

Best of luck!
