I grew up there. I wouldn't wish a life in Montgomery County on my worst enemy.

Default really...

Why not? What is bad about it? I really need to know because we were seriously considering moving there.

Weather is hot and muggy. Always muggy, but you deal. Conroe ISD is very good. http://www.conroeisd.net/about/accountability/annual_report.asp (broken link)

Overboard, lol...the weather is hardly all that hot sometimes. The ocean brings in a little breeze most of the time, so it's not burning hot and sticky like the rest of Texas. It is muggy, but I see that as an advantage sometimes. The moisture's good for you.

Its not bad, depending on where you live in the conroe area. Conroe school district is good, Conroe High is very mixed socioeconomically, not exactly a rough school but... there are elements of the school I would like to think most people would like their kids to avoid. Caney Creek High is a smaller, more rural part of the county, a Conroe ISD school and pretty nice. There is also Woodlands College Park High, not bad too.
Weather ain't as bad as its made out to be, but then I've lived here my entire life and thus, used to it.

If you specifically want in conroe probably best to stay on north end of town and for some reason a distinction between west side of town and east side of town from conroe up to huntsville as far as housing resell etc.
I think it is because some parts east have flooded in past. Some nice building in the East side lately though. Just perceptions that die hard I guess.
