When we get official word from TDHCA, I will post the update.

If you had been around on this issue for more than one day as most of the rest of us have, you'd realize there was a lot more to it than just the fact of it being a low-income complex. It's a lot more complicated than that. All of the shadiness surrounding Goldshire Development, a fake HOA created to garner points with the state, the horribly unsafe road the development was proposed for, among all kinds of other things I won't go into here were of much more importance. I think you should educate yourself on the situation before making such foolish and simple-minded comments.
My mistake.

Do not bring my age into this
,though, because it has nothing to do with my views on others' callous and cruel ideas of people they perceive as 'lower' than them. This thread did nothing to make me believe that anyone was saying "I dislike this because 'x' company has done a lot of poor dealings in the past". From the outside, it seemed another front to bash the poor.

I was unaware of the company's shoddy past. Forgive me.

This is where you and many others are wrong in your thinking. And it's a rather insulting and simplified assumption IMO.

You have to choose your words wisely in these forums as well. Your post seemed like a front to bash the hard-working, middle class residents of Sugar Land. The wealthier areas such as Sweetwater and Avalon would not have been directly affected by this development; in fact, the developer lives in Sweetwater.

I did hear about that.

Alrighty then. My mistake, I won't make it again.

So is this thing going up or what? anyone know the status now?

I honestly could care less because this probably affects the New Territory and Grand parkway people the most... but it's interesting to see what will happen.

According to the other thread, no. The guy posted some paperwork saying the project was terminated.

And congrats to whoever was fighting for this. It's interesting to see people's perceptions and also to see them complain and get it their way for once
