I guess your right.. I just thought there is something that could be attained from at-least knowing someone from a more difficult background than that of oneself.

It's just that I've seen the type of people that come out of a perfectly clean and hunky-dory education and they go on to college thinking its all the same... and it most certainly is not.

FYI: Disrespectful children that aren't really concerned with their educations don't just come from the "hood" or shall I say "low-income" families....the same children exist in middle class as well as wealthy school districts. You have just as many "wanna be down" kids in better school districts as you do in the bad ones. Just thought I'd add that in Oh and I do have children and I do live in Sugar Land.

You are absolutely right! My best friends son is now sitting in a prison doing time for armed robbery. And one of my daughter's very good friends, who was Section 8, minority is now in medical school to become a heart surgeon. I believe this discussion, at least from my experience are the statistics of overall. There are always exceptions. BTW-I was raised in the mean streets of Baltimore City. I didn't start out with any special bubble and I didn't teach my children to live in one either, they made their own decisions based on their own experiences, they were always taught-All Are CREATED Equal-what one does with that is of their own making yet influence from home life plays a major part in that. The topic is whether all should be mixed together resulting in the slowing down of others when the thought was that it would be a positive influence on all. IT DOES NOT. Bad apples create more bad apples. IMO.

Not always....

I understand the Sugar Landers concerns...Rant, rave, protest, do what you feel you must do to protect your children....I do the same for mine. But what you must remember in doing that is WHAT WILL BE WILL BE...and there's nothing you can do about it. You may have the "not in my city" attitude, but remember, you may pay high ***** taxes but the city is not yours....this country favors big business...big money. Let's see what happens. And that is MHO...neither agreeing nor disagreeing, just stating the facts.

And we are all supposed to say "Hallelujah!" Some escaped this travesty, when in reality, many more could have had better choices at the end of their school experience verses total disillusionment of their own political societal decision making for them. No wonder many of today's young adults view us older's as stupid.

WHAT WILL BE WILL BE--WRONG! What is, is the making from some stupid idea that has failed, and now I am asked AGAIN to pay for it with my taxes. Look, I do not have the answers but I am finding that to have more money does ensure a better quality of life, AS I give my taxes still to those who are broken breeding more broken people/ideas.

You'd be even more pissed if you find out what those section 8 people actually spend their money on!

WHAT WILL BE WILL BE--RIGHT!!! I'm not saying it will or will not happen...what I mean by this is that noone knows what will come of this...whether building this development is right or wrong is a matter of opinion. I don't claim to have all of the answers either but FACE IT WHETHER U LIKE IT OR NOT OUR TAX DOLLARS PAY THE WAY FOR A LOT OF IDEAS I/WE DON'T BELIEVE IN...THAT'S AMERICA....WHETHER WRONG OR RIGHT!!!!!!
