Youth Football in Clearlake/Webster/Friendswood
Hello Everyone,
My family and I will be moving to Southwest Houston this summer from Raleigh, NC and I was wondering if anyone knew if there are leagues for youth sports in the Clearlake/Webster/Friendswood areas. Perhaps community centers? I know the city of Houston sponsers some, but are there any others? My son is interested in full gear football, he's 8. The city of Houston only offeres flag football.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you moving to SW Houston or SE Houston?
Clear Lake = extreme SE Houston. That'd be quite a haul from the SW side.

Sorry my mistake, I meant SE Houston. I'm still familiarizing myself with Houstons directional terminology.
Is Sugarland considered West or Southwest?

There is another league in Friendswood that my son played for the Friendswood Broncos:
Friendswood Broncos - (Friendswood, TX) - powered by LeagueLineup.com
Signups are this weekend I believe but if you call I am sure they will work with you depending on when you move.
There is also another team in Friendswood called the Mustangs. I don't have any information regarding that league though.

Thank you for the info! I checked the website and their prices are pretty steep for an 8 yr old to play football. I'm not used to shoveling out 200+ for sports Definitly not in our budget right now.
*sigh* It looks like he'll be playing (free) flag football.
Again, thank you!

Yes it was expensive, but it did include the uniform, and gear. They also hit you up later in the year for fundraising, pictures and who knows what all.
Another place you could look is the YMCA. My neighbors son played football for them. I have no idea of the cost or which Y they go to but I am sure you could look it up online.
Good luck...
