Sounds OK to me but kinda chanllenging because you wont be able to answer their questions like 'why are the moaning like that?' or 'why are his eyes still open when his head is already apart from the body?'

I think it would help to know which movie you wanted to see.
Some R movies are a lot worse than others.
If there's any nudity, you can always cover his eyes during those scenes.
Some of the movies have just a little cursing.
Despite what people think here, watching an R-rated movie will not mentally scar a child for life.
He's probably going to hear a lot worse at school/on the bus/TV/daycare, etc down the line.
thanks.. that's what i thought too.. we'll just be watching "star trek" and "wolverine".. cant believe some here are so judgemental..

There is no law saying your child has to be a certain age to watch a certain film. Theaters normally say that if the child is under 17, then they have to be accompanied by an adult, which IMO is silly. I just wouldn't take a 2 year old to a theater due to the fact that they are 2, and have an attention span of 15 min. Do like another poster said and wait for the dvd. That way you spare yourself from the embarassment of your child upsetting other movie goers and you wont have to worry about the nut cases that want to parent for you, by telling you what your child should or shouldn't watch.

Respect the other people in the theater and don't take a 2 year old to a "non-kid" movie.

Remember, your child is only cute and precious to you.

Are those movies even rated R? They seem more PG-13.
Some of the posters here do have a point about a 2 year old becoming bored during the movie and ruining the movie for others.
That would seem like a bigger issue than anything else.

RVD26's thoughts also crossed my mind.

It's one thing to go to the movies to have kids getting excited over a kid's movie, and boy have I been there, but when I go to see a film aimed at adults I don't want or expect to be distracted by toddlers!

This is actually one of my biggest pet peeves about the movies! I pay top dollar to sit and watch a movie and I have a toddler in back of me whining and kicking the seat the whole time. Like mentioned...a kids movie is one thing...an adult feature is another. With the music as loud as it is these days, parents can not expect the little one to sleep through the movie either. It may be fine with the theater personnel, but the patrons around you won't be too pleased.

One of my pet peeve going out to dinner as well.
When you are "dining" at 8:30 pm at a 4 star restuarant, whining/fussy Timmy is a downer. How can the parents possibly enjoy the $150+ meal?
Perry's, last Friday night.

Can I recommend you go see the very first showing of the day; like 10am on a weekday when no one else is there? There's nothing worse than being in a crowded theater with a child that's clearly bored. (He will be and so will you with Wolverine).

Those movies are fine for a 2 year old to see. If you have a well behaved child I say go ahead and take him, but if he's a crier (and most are) then skip the movie and wait till it comes out on DVD.
