Uh, West should be an option. Seems to be the direction of heaviest population.

If I had to rank my favorite areas they would be:

1. Rice Village/West University
2. Greenway Plaza/Upper Kirby
3. Uptown
4. Midtown
5. Museum District/Texas Medical Center
6. Montrose
7. Downtown
8. Memorial
9. River Oaks

10. Cypress/Cy-Fair
11. Pearland
12. Sugar Land
13. Clear Lake/Friendswood/Kemah
14. Kingwood
15. The Woodlands
15. Katy/Cinco Ranch

So I guess my choice would be south of I-10 for the inner loop and north of I-10 for the suburbs

I would have voted for "Both" if that was an option.

I've always been partial the North and Northwest suburbs. You'll find forests, nice neighborhoods, good schools and what is probably the largest continuous area of nice, livable, low crime areas in the Greater Houston area. Add to that, we're upwind/upstream of what is considered a rather polluted city. Everyone has their favorites. There are nice places all over town, North, NW, South, Southwest, West choose which one best fits your needs (schools, safety, greenery, traffic, budget, marital status, kids, family, etc).

I would think that I-10 would make a good divider. So I would say that Midtown/Downtown fall in the south category

I was speaking mainly about the suburbs, that's why I left out the inner loop. If I did West, people would've brought up the Galleria, so I just decided to do north and south.

Oh.

I'll take north then. Unless a hurricane's coming. Then I don't want no damn trees around me.

I would chose North then...as in so far north I've cleared Lake Livingston. Only way I'm driving 90 minutes in traffic is to leave town. Otherwise I'd chose west.
