Default The 5th body was just found across from my job.

Well the 5th body just washed up in the canal directly across from my job. I can see the body under the blue sheet from my office. All the news teams are here. This is so sad.

For those that don't know, this idiot was driving drunk with kids in the car, wrecked into Greens bayou on Greens Rd and the kids drowned. You'll see it on click2houston.com shortly.

More than just the driver needs to see jail time for this. Who lets 6 kids get in a car with a drunken idiot during a terrible thunderstorm and without car seats? Not to mention that car has restraints for AT MOST 6 people. Police need to start looking into who else put those kids in that car. It just sickens me. Had he not drown the kids in the bayou, he probably would have crashed later into a utility pole and sent the kids flying out the windshield. I hear too many horror stories like this from my wife (PICU nurse) for me to feel the slightest bit sorry for these idiot parents.

Maybe we should look at requiring everyone to receive some sort of reversible sterilization at birth... once you hit a certain age and prove through testing that you aren't a complete moron, you can have it reversed.

I saw a report on the news in which the wife says she was talking to him on his cellphone at the time of the crash..........studies have shown that cellphone use can be worse than drink driving in terms of increasing risk. Maybe this will make some of the morons I see talking on their phones while driving think twice before risking killing an innocent party (personally I don't care if they kill themselves)

Not sure why Quanell wants to get involved in this... if he wants to be there for the families, that's fine, but I don't know why he'd want to even appear to be defending the idiot driver. I looked up the quote Quanell gave, http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6383423.html: (broken link)

“There are some who would like to condemn him, but we know there is no perfect human being,” Quanell X said. “... We know what happened here was an accident. It was not on purpose. None of us are condoning what happened. None of us are saying it’s all right. Everybody here is traumatized and hurt.”

Sorry, but driving drunk (while possibly high) during a thunderstorm while talking on a cell phone with 6 unrestrained children in the car is not an accident. He may not have intended to do those things, but he was so incredibly negligent that it boggles my mind that anyone would refer to it as an accident.

Drunk driving is not at all acceptable. It needs to be severely punished.

I would, in fact, support Singapore caning as a punishment for this guy (in addition to prison), if he is guilty.

Is 'quannel x' the clown who stands around on Saturdays in downtown making an idiot of himself shouting surrounded by his posse of idiots in stupid clothes while everyone ignores him?

If so that explains a lot.

Never seen that spectacle but that sounds like him. I remember when I stayed in Clear Lake. I was a t a friends house in Pasadena when he decided to show up after the trial of the neighbor shooting those two robbers. Was fun to watch this idiot get crucified.

I'm glad they found the body, for the sake of the poor little girl who can be properly buried, but also so the idiot driver can get another 20 years tacked onto his sentence. I hate, hate, hate this story. It makes me sick to think about those poor kids.
