I meant to say 45 minutes...
My husband could possibly be transferred to Houston near the airport and schools are the priority. I used to live in Katy and I know the most of the schools have exemplary ratings. I'm afraid that the commute from South Katy would be well over and hour. Are there any areas closer to IAH that would be similar to Katy?

Just as a starting point, here are the public ISD's near IAH and their 2008 district rating:

Aldine ISD - Academically Acceptable

Spring ISD - Academically Acceptable

Houston ISD - Academically Acceptable

Humble ISD - Academically Acceptable

New Caney ISD - Recognized

Conroe ISD - Academically Acceptable

Klein ISD - Academically Acceptable

North Forest ISD - Academically Acceptable

Most of Klein, the Kingwood schools, Woodlands, all of those are good schools.

I would think Kingwood would do the job. Tons of pilots and airport personnel live up there.
