We plan to go to Galveston beach for this coming memorial day weekend, we have rented a condo at Casa Del Mar Beachfront Suites on the beach and would like to cook some fresh seafood ourselves. I know in Corpus Christi, there are lots of shrimp boats docked near the piers to sell fresh shrimps. Are there similar stuff in Galveston as well? Thanks! Cheers!

You can also try out on Pier 19 which is next to the Oil Rig Museum. The fishing boats come in there (if it ain't destroyed, haven't been to that side of town) and individuals as well as restaurant owners stand there waiting till the Captains unload and buy right on the spot. I think it is right next to Katies.

Depending on how your going to Galveston, on 146 in Kemah and again down in Texas City a man named Chuck Franklin has a freezer truck he parks on the side of the road with a tent. Dont be afraid of the road side people selling seafood. I buy from this guy in Kemah and on Saturdays he sets up another stand in League City on 2094. His family catches the Shrimp right in the local Gulf waters.
