Has anyone read anything substantive yet (probably too soon) in any media? The Chronicle will cover all the court stuff as it happens...but I keep wondering what "creates" the people with this mindset.
In the meantime, I'll cross Liberty County off any weekend road trips!

Stories like this are Houston Press territory.

The authorities are probably trying to make sure if they were trespassing or not. Considering the Grand Jury letting off Horn they probably want to make sure they have it really clear.

I don't think their thinking had anything to do with Joe Horn (who whether right or wrong actually shot two criminals - burglars) - this had to do with two meth-heads acting like the ignorant, backwood rednecks that they are. They look like they shut themselves off from society years ago - including a sign and a flag to make sure people knew that they weren't right. Weirdos like this have always existed. I'm sure that the prosecutors are going to cross their t's and dot their i's on this one so that when they do upgrade those charges - nothing will be wrong and been filed in haste to ensure that these two don't get off.

Ok, so liberty county authorities were suppose to meet today and discuss upgrading charges against these two. So far, the only news story I can find is this one: Second assault charge in Liberty County shooting incident raises woman's bond to $525,000 >> www.beaumontenterprise.com - Local
So far all they've done is upgraded the womans charges by giving her a 2nd "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon" charge. If they've already charged them with assault, then I take it they've determined the 4 people shot were not trespassing... so what is stopping them from slapping murder charges on these two?

So sad that an innocent child has to die because of these confederate flag waving backwoods-living rednecks.
I seriously hope they get the ULTIMATE punishment.

Agreed, texas7. Doesn't anyone remember the movie "Deliverance"? There are freaks in every part of the country. Texas just seems to get more coverage than, say, Georgia...and lord knows GA is full of freaking flag-waving rednecks...
