Default Boy from quadruple shooting dies...

kind of surprised this hasn't been brought up yet. I'm not really a fan of the death penalty... but stories like this sure make me rethink my position. Don't know what else to say... this story just makes me so freaking mad...

I think this couple has never set foot off their property. They probably grow their own food.

If you're ever off the beaten path in the no-man's-land smack between the Houston and Beaumont metros, it's wise to be very careful. My daily commute between the two regions sometimes results in a rare traffic jam, which has sent me through this area as an alternate. The little towns seem quaint, but rural parts of Liberty County have some seriously deranged people living in bad poverty and what feels like lawlessness. ANyway if it were up to me, these people would be swinging from a tree. I can already see CNN having a field day with this and pinning it on "Houston."

Jesus H. Christ. What a horrible story. Castle doctrine be damned. Nothing less than murder-1 for these inbreds.

This wasn't the Castle Doctrine though. This was just murder.

I know. But I can already see them (and their equally-deranged sympathizers) trying to put that up as a defense, claiming "illegal trespassing". Ain't gonna fly, though.

They were. The levee area where these people were riding is not private property, nor is the country road they were on.

How one could mistakenly think they were trespassing on private property when, according to the article, it's not uncommon for people to go off-roading there is beyond me.

There are actually some very nice homes over in that area. Was just visiting over there last weekend (about 3 miles south of there anyway). Apparantly, the locals know that there are some folks down that particular road that they pretty much avoid. My friend ventured down there for a look a while back and said it was pretty much hillbilly country and looks much the same from a boat in the river...all sorts of no tresspassing signs and confederate flags, etc. One thing she pointed out after this happened was that off the county road, there are a number of unpaved, private roads (most with signs) and rhumor has it that some of the folks on those private roads are pretty aggravated with the mudders tearing up their roads and making them impassable for the residents. Not that there is any excuse for shooting these folks, one wonders if this happened on the county road, public property, or on one of these private roads. They should have gotten the license plate #s and called the sheriff to handle the issue if it was on a private road or property.
As far as the levee is concerned, I have heard different stories. Some say they were not on the levee at the time of the shooting but were on a road (either going to or from the levee).

sheesh ..... here in my neck of the woods, we would be suspecting the shooters had a meth lab..... especially given how they both look like 40 miles of hard road....... way older than their stated ages.......

what dumbazzes......
