I think the redevelopment of the sugar refinery and the empty land north of it is on hold, due to the poor economic conditions.

I've noticed there are townhouses behind the Whole Foods area. Isn't that whole area owned by Fluor Daniel?

I doubt it. If it was owned by them it is more likey it was sold off.
It's just "Flour", by the way. They havn't been called Flour Daniel for several years now.

Gosh and I remember when SL used to be such a nice quite community. Now I just cannot believe the city is building a park just for dogs to run free . Hmmm, I wonder who's gonna clean up the poop and break up the fights.

Most cities where I have lived have had dog parks. The theory is that the dog owners clean up the poop (because of peer pressure from the other owners) and aggressive dogs are banned from the park (again from peer pressure).
In reality, it doesn't work quite as well as the ideal but dog lovers seem giddy with joy to have a place to let their dogs run free.
