Don't know about the vet tech school. Never knew there even was one.
My son also has Autism - Aspergers. Conroe ISD was extremely helpful. Their head of special education really got things moving for me. Once we got his paperwork finished, his IEP was made up, meetings were held regularly, testing done regularly and modifications as needed. They really could think outside the box to deal with him. He was in elementary at the time so it was very difficult some days. They were willing to provide that little extra every day to help him succeed. The teachers were also fantastic.

Come to Spring Branch ISD with Autism. Bendwood School for special needs kids (your son qualifies) goes thru age 5. He can also go to a local PreK and attend PPCD there or inclusion, whatever suits him best. The AIM prigram for kids mildly on the spectrum is wonderful for elementary school age kiddos. Or he can just go thru mainstream classes with incredible support & get OT & SP in his homeschool.

On 610 west loop, Gulf Coast Vet Hospital is (I think) the biggest clinic in Houston. Possibly call them & maybe they can ask around for some opionions on the vet tech school from their techs.......

WOW, this is completely the opposite of everything I've heard of Conroe ISD.

At first I was excited to hear this because we own a home there that we could move into, but I saw the phrase "He was in elementary at the time." This may have been some time ago. I think that Conroe used to be better for autism, but then got rid of their program.
Francis, I would love to know if this information is current for Conroe ISD. Who was the head of special ed?
