Default Walmart - Poor Customer Service

Missouri City Walmart has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. I was in the sporting goods department this afternoon wanting to make a purchase, but there was no attendant at that station. I stopped 6 Walmart empolyees and requested service. Each of them got on the phone and paged for help as a customer needed assistant. I waited for 30 minutes and still no help , then left. I was not the only one needing assistance as there were 3 others needing help as well. They need a serious management purge. Needless to say, they lost my business as I will be shopping elsewhere.

Going to Walmart to get good customer service is like going to McDonald's for fine dining, or METRO for personal chauffeur service.

On a related note, I once had a male friend tell me that the most effective form of birth control in the world was a little blue vest that read: "How May I Help You?" on the back.
He was a former Walmart employee, of course.

Walmart customer service is an oxymoron.

Hmm, it appears that I am not the only one who has experienced poor or no service from Walmart. Who are they hiring these days..?

I have had a number of clients in the past who worked at Walmart and they told some pretty sad stories. They are paid low wages, expected to work when they are sick and abusive management practices are tolerated. I also understand that Walmart calls people part time employees so they don't have to provide health insurance and then expects them to work 39 hours a week. IMHO Walmart employees are treated very poorly. In terms of customer service, you get what you pay for I guess.

Exactly. That, combined with their horrible treatment of suppliers who enter into a business relationship with them without realizing Walmart's track record of exerting constant downward pressure on price, are two reasons that I choose not to shop there.
