We used to go to that 'French' chain, Madeleines- they had one at Town And Country and when that closed we went to the one on the 290.

La Madeleine is still open at Town & Country.

I have always liked 59 diner for a classic American breakfast, and Mammacita's on Nase RD 1 for a Tex-Mex breakfast. Chorizo and pancakes!

So I took Mom2Feebs's advice and I went to Baby Barnaby's and it was pretty delicious! I had the banana and walnut pancake and fresh orange juice. I need to try more stuff though...

Oh yay! I was hoping you'd get over there in time because I think they stop serving breakfast around 2. I used to just get the eggs, grits, sausage and biscuit combo. It was hangover heaven! LOL!

P.S. I tried to give you a rep, but it said I have given you too many and have to spread the love. ROTFL!

I forgot about 59 Diner! I do like them, a lot.

There is a Mamacita's on I-45 N and I think it is part of the chain that is also in other parts of TX--they have a fabulous green sauce that comes with the chips and salsa, I freaking LOVE it.

Oh, and I wanted to add, your user name is cracking me up, are those two things you never leave the house without? LOLOLOL

The Tel Wink on fashionable Telephone Road. Dot Diner at Gulfgate has a really good one they serve anytime, (one of the Pappas dynasty's first restaurants). Kelly's, (3 locations I think) the only place that can make the clientele of the 59 diner look petite.

Regular Barnaby's as well as the Baby Barnaby's, also serve a good breakfast.

Teotijuacan (3 locations) has a good Mexican breakfast. One on Airline, one at Bellfort and Fondren, and the original at Cavalcade and Irvington.

Spanish Flower has a Breakfast Americano plate with pancakes, wonderful oat meal with brown sugar, eggs and bacon, along with a litany of Tex Mex breakfast items.

I lot of people turn out for Baba Yega's Sunday Brunch, but personally I am not one for the $18 buffet deals, when I just don't eat that much. I have also become far less tolerant in my old age of the crowds at the "see and be seen" kind of places. If that even qualifies as such, I wouldn't know. But the food and atmosphere is good.

Frankly, I felt like the whole place needed to be hosed down. Maybe the other one (-s? I think there are at least two) are better, but I won't waste my time finding out. Blech.
I have been to the one at Park Place and the freeway. It ain't glamorous, that's for sure. As far as most of the clientele, it would take a table of 10 just to have one full set of teeth at the table.

The service can be very spotty there, but the breakfast food was usually good with obnoxiously big portions. All in all I still prefer Dot Diner nearby though.
