There was a fatal car accident right where I live on Monday June 1st around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 6 in Sugar Land, just south of Voss Road. Highway 6 was blocked off to southbound traffic for nearly 4 hours.

I know there was a fatality because the police officer who would not let cars south on 6 told me so. Neighbors told me that one of the people in the accident also had been Life Flighted from the scene. So perhaps there were two fatalities....

I saw nothing on local TV, the Chronicle website, or the Sugar Land/Fort Bend local papers online. Nothing on Fort Bend Sheriff or Sugar Land police websites. I would have thought a fatality merited some coverage... where else should I be looking? I'd really like to know what happened.

Hey Shelbygirl,

That is it indeed, thank you. How exactly did you search for it online??? I tried several keyword searches and it didn't come up...that kind of thing bugs me no end!

I did just find it in the Chronicle print edition...don't know how I missed it. The online version has more detail about the children.

I saw the two cars and knew it was a very serious situation...I didn't know kids were involved. There's still a lot of shattered glass in the center lane, and skid marks. I would think the TxDOT or whoever should have to clean up the former....

Default car accident

my sister was a witness of this horrible wreck... the car was coming straight towards my sister, my sister rapidly moved lanes to the right, and thats when the mustang struck the car that was behind my sister..she stopped to help them but the driver was already dead...my prayers go out to both families...especially the ones who lost their husband and father..

What makes you believe this person is lying? Because this is the first time they post? Do you realize how many people read this board and are not registered? Your comment comes off as completely rude.

What an awful experience for your sister...she must be so shaken that it could have been her, except that her reflexes were so good and so fast.
Thanks for the photos...that indeed was the scene.
