Default Apartments around U of H?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good areas to live around the University of Houston area. I might potentially be going to grad school there starting in Jan 2010. I would be looking for an apartment and I know the area immediatley around the campus is not so great. I have heard the area around the Medical Center is good but that's about it. Any suggestions?

Yeah, not gonna find anything in the immediate area. I wouldn't want to live there. What about on campus? The new dorms are expensive as hell, but they are right on campus.
How much do you want to spend anyway?
