About Kingwood
We are considering moving back to the Houston area and I was wondering if Kingwood is still a good place to live? I lived in Humble(Atascocita area) for 3 years in 1996, graduated from Humble High and Kingwood was always a decent suburb. I am not sure if the demographics have changed or if there is more crime now? I see that there is a PARK and RIDE in Kingwood and I was wondering if a lot of people take the bus to their jobs downtown? Also, How is the traffic on 59? Home prices are still very reasonable compared to where we live (Minneapolis). Any feedback on living in Kingwood is appreciated.

Yes. And last I saw it, looks like it's grown a lot as far as retail.

Kingwood is great, personally, if I could move back I would....and I'd choose something in Woodland Hills, Trailwood, Bear Branch, Kings Forest, or Kingwood Lakes, just to make it easier to get out in the mornings. If you're going to take the P&R, which a lot of folks do, you could easily live in the back, since you're not driving, why not be stuck on KW drive and play a game on your laptop? LOL...

btw if you do searches on HAR, don't look under "Kingwood" since many agents list by Village...I would do a search for HAR MLS area #32. Anything that is 77339 is the front; anything 77345 & 346 is going to be the back.

I love Kingwood. The Commute on the 59 fwy from the north side of town is still the best around Houston.

on HAR, you can also draw a polygon on a map search, so you can be sure to get all the listings in your target area no matter how the realtor has described or assigned the home.

Don't forget Oakhurst in 77365. It is in Porter but is part of the KSA/Kingwood.

I'm in BearBranch in Kingwood and it is great. Moved here in 2005 and Kingwood has alot more now than it did then, ie. Kings Harbor Waterfront Village and more dining. My neighbor take parknride every morning downtown (at least he did until last year when he retired)
