Hello Everyone,

My girlfriend and I are coming to Houston for a quick weekend getaway. We are coming on April 26th and leaving on April 29th. We are wanting to do things that most locals our age do. I am 27, she is 32. If anyone can be of assistance, please respond.
Thanks......

The Museum District, especially the Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Natural Science...

Bar-hopping on Kemah Boardwalk if the weather is nice...

Rice Village (near Rice University) for nightlife.
Now, downtown's Main St. used to be great, but last time I was there it had turned mostly hip-hop and older people. With a baby I don't do much nightlife anymore, so maybe someone else can help out with that. Sambuca, Bossa, and the two Irish pubs are probably still good. There's also the Warehouse District and W. Alabama area, but I've never been to those. The nightlife here is great, when you go to the right areas.

Where are you staying?

I can't imagine any nightclub or bar you could possibly be looking for that you won't find in Houston. The city may not be mega big or primarily important worldwide, but it has the most cool points. I've been around, so trust me on this one. Nothing about this city is corny. You'll enjoy it, I promise.

Thank you for your responses. We are staying at the Hilton Hotel on the South West Freeway. Is that a good hotel? If not, I still have time to change it. Thank you again for your help..........

The Hilton Americas? There are some good hotels Downtown and in the Uptown district. Some things to do intown is the Museum District, Downtown Aquarium, Houston Zoo, and relaxtion in Hermann Park. Most of Houston's touristy things are by the water. There you have NASA, Kemah Boardwalk, and then Galveston (with the beach, strand, Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, etc.).

Sammy's on Thursday, but be there early because it gets pack quick. It's a small place. There's main street, mid-town,montrose area, rice village, and the galleria area for dining and nightlife.
