Good article and great pics. Too bad the true story will never be known. All the fraud committed by homeowners trying to dupe the insurance companies. All the fraud the insurance companies are committing against the residents. The corruption going on in city hall.

The grandest corruption in modern times is just before IKE, Galveston voted on a govt hiring freeze. Then came IKE. To this day they claim that it is against the law to hire more employees. In the mean time last I looked there were 19,300 residential building permits piled to the ceiling waiting to be approved. Just one lonely employee is reviewing them. Well durrrr...it seems to me if you have the power to make the laws then you have the power to change the law back.

I like the redlining going on which breaks federal law. Relief monies going to areas closest to council members and the most wealthiest homes. Then there is the taking of federal funds meant for homeowners but the city would rather use it to revive the 4 welfare projects that they were forced to board up some time ago.
