Just take the Eastex Freeway, US 59 North, all the way. I've driven that route every way there is. This is the easiest.

Watch your speed limits, and the road makes some strange twists and turns---they route you on the "loops" around several of the small towns.

It's about 4 hours to Texarkana, give or take.

Yep. 59 all the way. I love it. Reminds me so much of going back and forth to Nacogdoches!

59 is a very nice/scenic drive as far as Texas goes. However, last time I did this it was an easy 5 1/2 hours and over 300 miles from the south side. There are small towns you have to stop at to make turns to stay on 59, as well as slow down since it is not an interstate. Enjoy it.

Speed traps south of Lufkin are the worst.
