Default Did Anyone See the Free Screening of Food Inc....

at Angelika? You may know some things about the American food industry, but how much do you really know? The funniest part that I wanted to go to the grocery store right after. Don't forget to go see it---it comes out this Friday, June 26 at Angelika Film Center!

I saw it back in May. It is very interesting. I won't eat pork ever again. But I will continue to eat grass fed beef.

Moderator cut: off topic but it still looks very good. I am all for local food and stuff that's as close to nature as can be. I don't like all the processed foods or the hormone/drug-laden meat industry. I don't trust the whole corn farmer initiative only because it's all about corn syrup...like the preview was showing, it's in everything. Not just food!

I saw a PETA video with hidden cameras showing what really happens.... it's so sad.

For me, knowing the truth is the power to change things that are wrong.

Well, it hasn't made me throw everything from my fridge out, just reminded me that I vote with my money in the grocery store. I think that was really the point.

Another funny part is that there are organic farmers in the movie who've never been to Wal-Mart or dislike it just as much as some of the users here; However, the movie showed that Wal-Mart was making deals with organic producers, because these are the products consumers were buying.

If you want to change something that is wrong why don't you send some money to an orphanage in Asia or Latin America instead of worrying if some animal dies in 3 seconds or 1.5 seconds at the slaughter house. You do realize, don't you, that all those furry little creatures out there are eating or being eaten by each other constantly?

This was some good information in this documentary but there was some misinformation and fear-mongering as well. It's hard to find balanced documentaries.
