Oh, and it isn't the north side. It is the neighborhood is called Northside. The heart of the area is Quitman and Fulton.

I also want everyone to know I was referring to lower class Mexicans, not middle class Mexicans. Most of my friends are middle class Mexicans since I am a bilingual teacher.

OK. "Near North Side" is a broader name for that whole area.
You'll have rail coming right through there soon. Enjoy watching gentrification in action. |

Yeah. Nobody calls the area Near Northside here. I came here becuase it was an Hispanic area and I thought it would be friendlier. Big mistake. My house has already been broken into twice since we have the homeless shelter. As soon as my lease is over look out Montrose here I come. But back to the OP, I love Houston and highly recommend it. No place is perfect.
