Actually, L'Auberge du Lac is a very nice place to visit. It is super clean, very comfortable rooms, and lots of gaming. It's easy to get to from Texas, about 2.5 hours from Houston. It's much more affordable than going to Vegas. I disagree with the earlier post above.

I'm a big Vegas fan. Love to go, love the city. I've never been impressed by LA casinos.

Having said that... I stayed at L'A a couple years ago (business) for three days, and really enjoyed it. Surprised. Top-notch everything--food, service, gaming floor, grounds, etc.

It's not IN Vegas, but it's a LV caliber hotel.

I started this thread a few years back and am surprised at some of the recent replies. But thanks anyway. I did stay at the hotel several times since and thought it was a very nice place. I just happened to be in Lake Charles that summer several times for business and the company suggested I stay there. Not bad when it's on the company nickle...well everything except the gambling.

I would not compare it to the Vegas strip or the downtown casinos but the accommodations and dining are just as nice at the L'Auberge as offered in Vegas. The times I spent in LV was for business as well with some very nice accommodations on the strip.

L'auberge is nice compared to the other casinos around, but they dont have too many slots/poker machines to choose from! Coushatta has a lot of machines but its not clean/nice
