Where Would You Like To Retire?
Will it be Houston or elsewhere and why?

My wife and I were going to retire to Albuquerque but then she developed a terminal illness. I decided that when everything is over I would move to Katy and rent my son's house (he just moved into a new one). This week my youngest son (35) said he wanted to move with me so it looks like it will be Albuquerque after all. One of the primary reasons we had picked ABQ was because of the lack of humidity and that is the only reason I've chosen it over Katy.

That's easy, Barbados. Because it has everything a human being could ever want. And maybe I'd mix in a summer place in New York City, because that'd keep me young and happening.

How much money do we get?
I'd spend summers in Aspen. Gorgeous weather, no humidity, lots to do, especially for active people. Winters? Almost anywhere in the Caribbean.
Back in the real world... we bought some land in Brenham a few years ago, and have been slowly fixing it up. House, barn, horse paddocks. Yes, it's still hot when Houston is hot, but Brenham is a pretty area, rolling hills, wildflowers, small town life. And it's far enough away from Houston to avoid the traffic and rat race, but close enough when you need a big city.

It will definitely NOT be in Houston or Texas, I HATE it here. It will be Eastern Tenn close to the North Carolina border because the weather and scenery are so much better there, at least to me.

love Barbados, one of our favorite Caribbean Islands, along with Aruba and Curacao.
Now, if we are talking in the real world, right here in NWA we have lots of retired people, many from Ca and Tex, lots of activities and a relatively low cost of living. Yes, east Tenn is also a good suggestion.
