May move to Houston from Dallas need some information (Sugar Land: homes, neighborhoods)

My husband may take a job in Houston in the 1500 block of Citywest Blvd. What part of Houston is that in? What are some nice areas to live in? We are becoming empty nesters and don't need school info. However with that being said our daughter is about to graduate with a degree in teaching and she may come with us. What are the best schools for teaching? I guess I do need school info.

That's on the west side in what's known as the Westchase District. I used to live right inside the Beltway from there.

I have no idea on your price range or type of home you want (older? newer? small yard? large yard?) But you might look in the 77077 zip code, which would be close by.

If you want to be really close, schools don't matter and you have $350k+ to spend, you might look in a subdivision called Briargrove Park. Commute for your husband would be basically crossing under the Beltway. Can't get much better than that!

You could walk to work from Walnut Bend which has older rennovated homes in the mid 200's. Check www.har.com 77042
I agree with the above poster Briargrove Park is nice too, if you can afford it.
School districts nearby are HISD,Cy fair,Katy and Fort Bend

You will enjoy Houston. It is well laid out and offers a little more diversity than DFW. The Westchase District is a convenient place to work, due to its proximity to the beltway 8.......speaking of, you should invest in an 'EZ TAG", if you will be travelling on the beltway, every day.
The wooded neighborhoods to the north of the Westchase district are collectively known as "Memorial". These include Briar Forest, Bunker Hill, Hunters Creek, Spring Branch, etc...some of which, like Hedwig Village & Piney Point Village, are incorporated towns of their own, complete with their own building codes and town councils.
Of course, being empty nesters now, you might want to move into the city. If this is the case, you should look anywhere from the Rice Village to the Heights. The west/southwest side of the inner loop is (in my opinion) the safest, most culturally inviting portion of the inner city.
If the safety of suburbs is what you desire, look no further than Sugar Land. Great infrastructure, parks, schools.......altogether well put together community. I hope this helps!
